In a tragic incident during the Israel-Gaza war, an Israeli couple named Itai and Hadar Berdichevsky displayed tremendous bravery by hiding their 10-month-old twin babies before Hamas gunmen entered their home and killed them. The couple resided in Kfar Gaza, a kibbutz located three miles east of Gaza. However, their infants remained safe for 12 hours as they were concealed in a shelter until Israeli soldiers rescued them. Deputy Ambassador of Israel in Cyprus, Rotem Segev, took to social media to share this heartbreaking story and praised the couple for their fight against the terrorists.

The infants were left alone for more than 12 hours until Israeli forces came to their rescue. Rotem Segev expressed the horror of two terrified parents who did their utmost to protect their children and tragically became orphans. The babies were eventually handed over to their grandmother, unharmed.

During the Hamas attack, Israeli civilians were taken by surprise when the terrorists breached the border and launched rockets from Gaza. Shockingly, the Hamas gunmen killed around 1,200 people, predominantly unarmed civilians who were either shot in their homes or on the streets. They also took numerous hostages back to Gaza.

In response, Israel declared its commitment to eliminate the Hamas movement, which governs the Gaza Strip. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a televised address, pledged to eradicate the remaining terrorists in Israel and warned that the actions taken against their enemies would have long-lasting effects.

Since the start of the conflict, Israel has conducted numerous deadly airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, resulting in approximately 1,200 casualties. Many former soldiers and reservists have been called back to duty to join Israel’s fight against Hamas. Moreover, Israel has imposed a comprehensive blockade on Gaza, severing water, fuel, and electricity supplies.
