The Enforcement Directorate has arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, in connection with a money laundering case related to the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy. Searches were conducted at Singh’s Delhi residence early on Wednesday morning. This marks the party’s third major arrest, following the arrests of Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The raids on Singh’s residence were based on claims made by businessman Dinesh Arora, an accused in the case, who later became an approver. Arora alleged that Singh had introduced him to Sisodia. Singh has been taken to the Enforcement Directorate office for questioning and is expected to be produced in court on Thursday. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is also the AAP chief, expressed support for Singh and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of attempting to derail rivals ahead of the upcoming general election. Raghav Chadha, another AAP leader, also criticized the BJP and called the arrest a political vendetta. The Enforcement Directorate had never named Singh as an accused or summoned him for questioning in connection with the case. Singh had previously posted a photo on social media welcoming the enforcement authorities to his home.
