Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has expressed his support for colleague Sanjay Singh after his home was raided in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. Kejriwal criticized the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of attempting to disrupt their rivals ahead of next year’s general election. He highlighted that despite over 1,000 raids conducted, not a single illegally acquired penny has been found. Kejriwal also referenced the recent raids on NewsClick, a news website accused of receiving funds from China-linked entities. He warned that such actions could also befall others in the future. The raid on Singh’s home is in relation to money-laundering charges linked to the AAP government’s liquor excise policy case in 2021. Singh is the latest AAP leader to face scrutiny in this matter, following the arrest of ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. The authorities believe that Singh introduced Sisodia to a businessman who had been granted bail after acting as a police informant. Kejriwal himself was questioned for nearly nine hours in April as part of this investigation.
