Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Congress government in Chhattisgarh of being steeped in corruption and misrule. He claimed that there is a scam in every scheme of the state and even cow dung was not spared. PM Modi also accused the Congress of dividing women in the name of caste and spreading lies. He launched a counter-attack on the main opposition party over its demand for OBC sub-quota in women’s reservation in legislatures. The Prime Minister invoked his own OBC background to assert that the Congress hates him and continues to abuse the backwards, Dalits, and tribals. PM Modi cautioned the people of Chhattisgarh that if the Congress is given another chance, corruption will continue, and promised stern action if the BJP is elected to power. He accused the Bhupesh Baghel government of corruption in ration distribution, liquor trade, PSC recruitment, DMF fund utilization, and cow dung procurement. PM Modi assured that the BJP is dedicated to the development of Chhattisgarh. He claimed that Chhattisgarh has received ample funds from the Centre in the last five years, but the Congress government tries to disrupt development. PM Modi criticized the Congress for only allocating Rs 300 crore annually for railway works during its tenure, while the Modi government provided Rs 6,000 crore in a year for railway network expansion. He accused the Congress government of committing scams in rice distribution under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojna. PM Modi also accused the Congress government of hiding deaths due to malnutrition and criticized them for spreading lies about paddy procurement. He said that Congress hates him because he is from the backward classes and accused them of hating Dalits, the poor, tribals, and OBCs. PM Modi claimed to have fulfilled another guarantee with the passage of the bill reserving 33% seats for women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies. He warned the women of Chhattisgarh to remain alert against the Congress’ attempts to create division among them on the basis of caste and spreading lies.
