Three people attempted to extort money from the owner of a garment shop in Moga, Punjab, by threatening to connect him with Canada-based Khalistani Terrorist Arshdeep Dalla. However, their plan was foiled after an employee alerted the police. The incident occurred in the Camp Clothing Market area around noon. The three individuals are believed to be associates of Arshdeep Dalla.
The extortion attempt was captured on CCTV, showing the associates taking the phones of some shop staff members while forcing the owner to speak with someone on the phone. Despite the owner’s pleas, the associates refused to stop. Suspecting something was amiss, an employee called the police. Assistant Sub Inspector of Police (ASI) Satnam Singh, who was patrolling in the area, swiftly arrived at the scene and apprehended two of the associates, while the third managed to escape.
The police confirmed that the three individuals were connected to Arshdeep Dalla, who has been extorting money from various individuals in Punjab through phone calls from Canada. The funds obtained are allegedly being used to support terrorist activities.
Arshdeep Dalla, a Canada-based Khalistani terrorist, is reportedly linked to the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba and has expressed a desire to target Hindu leaders in Punjab. This information was uncovered during a Delhi Police crackdown earlier this year when two terror suspects were arrested. Dalla had been communicating with one of the suspects, instructing him to prepare for terrorist activities in Punjab.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has offered a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information leading to the arrest of Arshdeep Dalla. He was closely associated with Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was killed in Canada in June. Nijjar’s death sparked a diplomatic dispute between India and Canada, with the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blaming “Indian agents” for the killing. India rejected these allegations, deeming them baseless and politically motivated.
