RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has stated that ‘Bharat’ has been a secular nation for 5,000 years, emphasizing the need for unity and setting a positive example of human behavior for the world. Speaking at the launch of Ranga Hari’s book, ‘Prithvi Sookta – An Ode To Mother Earth’, Bhagwat urged people to have devotion, love, and dedication for their motherland. He emphasized that the country’s 5,000-year-old culture is secular and should be acknowledged and followed for the well-being of society.

Bhagwat highlighted the importance of diversity in India and urged citizens not to fight amongst themselves. Instead, he called for the country to become capable of teaching the world the values of unity and harmony. He explained that the purpose of India’s existence is to fulfill this goal. Furthermore, Bhagwat praised the seers who created ‘Bharat’ and emphasized that they sought to offer knowledge to every individual in the country.

Contrary to popular belief, these seers were not solely ascetics but also lived the lives of wanderers with their families. Bhagwat mentioned that these nomads, who were once declared criminal tribes by the British, continue to showcase their rich culture and share valuable knowledge in society. He also highlighted India’s historical influence on other parts of the world, with Indian people spreading knowledge from Mexico to Siberia.

Bhagwat further stated that India’s impact goes beyond economic considerations, transforming forums like the G20 into platforms that prioritize humanity. By integrating the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family), India has encouraged a shift in perspective towards the well-being of all human beings. The event also featured the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, who emphasized that unity is India’s most significant ideal.
