A Delhi court has issued a warning to Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh for making political speeches in the courtroom amid a money laundering case against him. The court reprimanded Singh after he mentioned industrialist Gautam Adani’s name, stating that if he continues to discuss Adani and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, his presence in court will be through video conferencing. The court instructed Singh, who is accused in a case related to the Delhi liquor policy, to refrain from discussing unrelated matters during the hearings.
Singh also complained about the probe agencies’ handling of his complaint against Adani, alleging that they failed to take appropriate action. He further claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) did not ask him relevant questions during his custodial interrogation, stating that they focused on trivial matters such as money transfers to his wife’s account. Singh accused the ED of lacking efficiency and not taking his complaint seriously.
After the hearing, the judge extended Singh’s judicial custody until October 27. Singh was raided and taken into custody following allegations made by businessman Dinesh Arora, who later became an approver in the case. The Enforcement Directorate has not officially named Singh as an accused in the case but has referred to him in its documents, causing a political controversy.
