A poster created by the BJP depicting Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as Ravan has ignited a war of words between the two parties. The BJP’s poster, which resembled a film poster, features text that reads “Ravan, a Congress party production, directed by George Soros.” This is not the first time that the BJP has targeted Soros, who is known for his significant contributions to various groups worldwide, which some view as interference in internal affairs. The poster portrays Rahul Gandhi with multiple heads and wearing body armor, reminiscent of the mythical character Ravan.
In response to the poster, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh took to social media to question the BJP’s intent behind the post. He claimed that it was meant to incite and provoke violence against Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP and former party president whose father and grandmother were assassinated by forces aiming to divide India. Ramesh criticized the BJP for producing such an “obnoxious” graphic, calling it unacceptable and dangerous, while affirming that the Congress party will not be intimidated.
With assembly elections approaching in Rajasthan and other states, the poster wars between the two parties are expected to intensify.
