The issue of traffic congestion in Bengaluru is a pressing one, with the city’s car users experiencing an average commute time of at least one hour for a standard distance of 10 kilometers, as per a report by Greenpeace India. Furthermore, a study conducted by traffic expert M N Sreehari and his team revealed that Bengaluru suffers an annual loss of Rs 19,725 crore due to traffic delays, congestion, signal stoppages, time and fuel wastage, and other related factors. These findings highlight the urgent need for better road planning, traffic management, and improved infrastructure in the city.
