Landlord of Kidnapped Israeli Woman Reportedly Demands Rent and Threatens to Dispose of Her Belongings

A landlord in Israel is allegedly demanding rent from the roommate of a young woman who was kidnapped by Hamas operatives. The landlord threatened to remove all her belongings from their apartment if the rent is not paid. The incident occurred at a music festival where over 250 people were killed during Hamas’s attack in Israel. The abducted woman, Inbar Hyman, is currently in her final year of her academic program.

The landlord of the apartment has reportedly demanded full rent for the unit from the roommate, named Noam Allon. When Allon informed the landlord that Hyman had been abducted, the landlord allegedly responded with indifference, stating that Allon should find replacements and that he has an obligation to pay the rent of 2,500 shekels (about $630 US). Allon’s father posted a screenshot of the exchange on social media, expressing disbelief at the landlord’s behavior.

According to reports, the landlord also threatened to leave Hyman’s belongings in the street and find someone else to take the room. Allon’s father condemned the landlord’s insensitivity and malice. However, the landlord, Aaron Reiss, denied the allegations, stating that he made no such demands for money and expressing his hope for Hyman’s safe return.

In the incident, Hyman and her two friends were chased by Hamas gunmen for three hours before being kidnapped. Hyman’s family learned about the abduction after seeing a video online. The father stated that his son is finding it difficult to cope with what has happened.

It is important to note that the ongoing attack in Israel has resulted in the deaths of over 1,300 people, while the Israeli counter-airstrikes have claimed the lives of over 1,530 people in Gaza. Israel has reported the killing of approximately 1,500 Hamas militants within its borders.
