Punjabi singer Jasmine Sandlas received death threats from individuals allegedly associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Sandlas, who resides in the US, had come to Delhi to perform at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. She started receiving death threat calls from international numbers as soon as she landed at the Delhi airport. The threats claimed that she would be attacked at the stadium. Security has been tightened at the five-star hotel where Sandlas is staying, and the Delhi police are providing her with a security cover.
Jasmine Sandlas is a popular singer with several chart-topping hits and has also sung for Bollywood films. She sang the songs ‘Yaar Naa Miley’ in Salman Khan’s ‘Kick’ and ‘Illegal Weapon 2.0’ in the movie Street Dance 3D. Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in Ahmedabad jail on drug smuggling charges investigated by the National Investigation Agency, is also an accused in the murder case of singer Sidhu Moosewala. He has previously threatened Salman Khan and claimed responsibility for the killing of Khalistani terrorist Sukhdool Singh in Canada.
In the past, Bishnoi accused Salman Khan of hurting the sentiments of the Bishnoi community by hunting a blackbuck during the trial of the blackbuck poaching case. However, the actor was eventually acquitted of the charges.
