Indian cricket team emerged victorious against Australia in their Cricket World Cup 2023 opener on Sunday. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul had a brilliant partnership in the chase of 201 runs, but it could’ve ended differently for the Indian team if it wasn’t for a dropped catch by Kohli. Ravichandran Ashwin revealed that when Kohli hit the ball in the air, he ran out of the dressing room out of fear that he would be dismissed cheaply. Kohli’s wicket is crucial, and Ashwin admitted that he was relieved when he saw Mitchell Marsh dropping the catch. Ashwin described the moment as a scary one and said that he ran back into the dressing room when the crowd erupted. Kohli eventually scored 85 runs before being dismissed by Josh Hazlewood. However, his partnership with Rahul helped India secure a 6-wicket win. Rahul remained unbeaten on 97 as India won with 52 balls to spare.
