Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor have been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning in connection with their alleged involvement in the Mahadev gaming app, which is accused of facilitating illegal betting. The ED has called Shraddha Kapoor for questioning today, while Ranbir Kapoor has requested a two-week extension before appearing before the agency.

In addition to Shraddha and Ranbir Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, Hina Khan, and comedian Kapil Sharma have also been summoned by the probe agency for their alleged involvement in promoting the app. The ED is investigating the source of the money received by the celebrities from the betting app, as they were social media influencers for the platform and allegedly received payments for promotional activities.

The Mahadev Book app, which operated primarily from Dubai, is currently under scrutiny by the ED and various state police departments, including those in Bhopal, Kolkata, and Mumbai. The company, promoted by Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, is accused of using the online platform for money laundering through undisclosed bank accounts.

During raids conducted last month at 39 different sites across cities, assets worth Rs 417 crore were seized. The focus on the Mahadev app intensified after Chandrakar’s extravagant Rs 200 crore wedding in the UAE, which was entirely paid in cash.
