Recently, a video emerged from Uttar Pradesh’s Lakhimpur Kheri district, showing a tiger roaming through a sugarcane field. The video, shared by Prashant Pandey on the microblogging site X, has gained over 8,000 views. In the 17-second clip, the tiger can be seen prowling in the sugarcane field.

According to the caption of the video in Hindi, this incident took place in the Kukra area of Lakhimpur Kheri district, which is located in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh. The region is known for tigers freely roaming in sugarcane fields.

Ramesh Pandey, an officer in the Indian Forest Service, shared the video with a comment about sugarcane fields serving as favorable habitats for both prey and predators. He also mentioned that such fields contribute to a high degree of human-wildlife interaction, especially during the winter months in the Terai region.

The video was seemingly recorded from inside a car, as the vehicle’s bonnet is visible and the tiger is only a few meters away.

One user expressed hope that the tiger finds its own territory and grows into a majestic tiger or tigress, emphasizing the magnificence of encountering such a wild animal.

It is not a common sight to witness tigers in sanctuaries or national parks, despite India’s thriving tiger population. Therefore, this video has garnered significant attention among nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
