India captain Rohit Sharma scored a dominant century in his team’s eight-wicket win over Afghanistan. India recorded a second consecutive victory in the ongoing ODI World Cup, with Rohit’s superb knock of 131 runs off 84 balls. The win propelled India to the second spot in the points table, comfortably achieving the target of 273 with 15 overs to spare. Rohit created history by becoming the first Indian to score seven centuries in World Cup matches, surpassing the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Rohit also broke Kapil Dev’s record for the fastest ODI century by an Indian in World Cup history, reaching triple figures in just 63 balls. In addition, he surpassed Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes hit in international cricket across all formats.

Impressed by Rohit’s incredible form, Pakistan cricket legends Wasim Akram and Misbah-ul-Haq expressed their concerns about the bowlers who will face him in upcoming matches. Akram praised Rohit’s beautiful and risk-free batting, stating that he seemed to have more time than other batsmen. Misbah echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the pressure that bowlers will face against Rohit.

During his century against Afghanistan, Rohit also joined Australia’s David Warner as the fastest players to reach 1,000 runs in World Cup history, taking only 19 innings to achieve the milestone. Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly are among the other Indian players who accomplished this feat in quick time.

It is evident that Rohit Sharma’s sensational batting form poses a challenge for any opponent. The bowlers are left with the daunting task of figuring out where to bowl to him. His exceptional performances have established him as a dominant force in international cricket, leading India to victory in crucial matches.
