Akola, Maharashtra:
NCP President Sharad Pawar stated that his nephew and rebel NCP faction leader, Ajit Pawar, will never become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He also predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will lose power in Maharashtra, just like in 70% of states across the country. Addressing the speculation of Ajit Pawar taking over as Chief Minister, Sharad Pawar dismissed it as a dream. He expressed confidence in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, consisting of the Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress, winning the Maharashtra state elections in 2024. Sharad Pawar highlighted that although the BJP has gained power in some states by breaking away from other parties, they are not in power in the majority of states. Regarding Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi leader Prakash Ambedkar joining the Opposition’s INDIA coalition, Pawar responded positively. He also mentioned Chhagan Bhujbal, who once proposed Supriya Sule as the NCP president but has now switched sides. In addition, he stated that if Pankaja Munde, a BJP leader rumored to have been sidelined, forms her own party, it would receive a positive response.
