Eleven school students in the US were arrested for a violent fight at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast, Florida. The incident occurred on Monday afternoon and required intervention from local police. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office shared an edited bodycam video on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing the chaotic moments. Although the students’ faces were blurred in the 2 minute 51 second clip, screams and pushing of a policeman could be heard. Three of the arrested students face felony charges, according to ABC News. Flagler County schools have multiple school resource deputies assigned to each campus, and they quickly assisted teachers and administrators in breaking up the fight and dispersing onlookers. Authorities described the chaotic situation, with a female student pushing Deputy King, a male student charging at a school staff member, and another male student battering an administrator. Eight of the students are recommended to face misdemeanor charges as per affidavits filed with the State Attorney’s Office. Sheriff Rick Staly emphasized the importance of respect and stated that violence will not be tolerated. The parents of the students involved have been notified, and an investigation into the cause of the fight is underway.
