India captain Rohit Sharma recently met former WWE wrestler The Great Khali in Ahmedabad. While the rest of the Indian cricket team was preparing for their first match of the Cricket World Cup 2023 in Chennai, Rohit had to travel to Ahmedabad for the pre-tournament captains’ meet. The meeting took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which hosted the World Cup opener between England and New Zealand on October 5.

In addition to their meeting, The Great Khali also had a message for the Pakistan cricket team. He shared an Instagram story in which he was seen wearing a ‘Biggest Cricket Fan’ tag.

Unfortunately, the Indian team has faced a setback ahead of their opening match against Australia. In-form player Shubman Gill is suspected to be suffering from dengue and may not be able to play on Sunday. The final decision will be made after Gill undergoes testing for dengue on Friday. The recovery process from dengue usually takes 7-10 days, but if the platelet count drops significantly, it could take longer.

If Gill is unable to play, Ishan Kishan may open the innings in his place. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that Gill is currently under medical observation and they are waiting for updates from the medical team.

Gill has been a key player for India in recent times, particularly in One Day Internationals (ODIs), and his absence could be a major setback for the team. He has formed a successful opening partnership with captain Rohit Sharma, and his absence could impact the team’s performance in the upcoming matches against Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The BCCI has yet to confirm the nature of Gill’s illness and is closely monitoring his condition.
