A mother and her eight-year-old daughter from Assam were killed in a train accident in Bihar. The victims, Usha Bhandari and Aakriti, were residents of Sadiya in Assam’s Tinsukia district. Usha’s brother-in-law, Deepak Bhandari, who was also traveling with them, is currently receiving treatment. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his condolences. The incident occurred near Buxar when the North East Express train derailed. The train was en route from Delhi to Guwahati in Assam. Stranded passengers are being brought to Guwahati in a special relief train, with over 1,000 passengers, including 540 from Assam, expected to arrive by Thursday evening.
