Jarvo, a notorious social media influencer and serial pitch invader, was apprehended by security authorities at the MA Chidambaram Stadium during the World Cup match between India and Australia. He managed to breach multiple security layers and enter the field of play wearing the India jersey. The incident has left the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) embarrassed. This is not the first time Jarvo has successfully breached security in matches involving the Indian team. The ICC has banned him from attending any further games at the event, and the matter is now in the hands of Indian authorities.

The Indian team’s security officer quickly took action when he noticed Jarvo and escorted him outside the venue. However, the incident did not amuse Indian captain Virat Kohli. Jarvo had previously been banned from English grounds after repeatedly exploiting loopholes in England’s security system during the 2021 series against India.

Despite his notoriety, Jarvo’s actions have not been taken seriously in the past. The ICC spokesperson assured that the safety and security of everyone involved in the World Cup is a priority, and they will work with the venue to understand how this breach occurred and if additional security measures are necessary for prevention.

The incident raises questions about how disruptors like Jarvo are able to obtain premium VIP passes while Indian supporters struggle to procure tickets. Both the BCCI and the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) are likely to face scrutiny in this regard.
