The Indian cricket team recently shared an Instagram reel from their pre-World Cup 2023 shoot. The clip featured several players including Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, and Ishan Kishan. The Indian cricket team captioned the picture with “Raring to go for #CWC23.” However, fans were quick to notice that star player Virat Kohli was missing from the reel and expressed their disappointment. Some fans even mentioned that the reel would feel incomplete without Kohli.

Fans took to social media to question why Kohli was left out and shared their views on the matter. Comments like “I am waiting for Virat but Virat is not in this video, why?” and “This reel is incomplete without Virat” were common. Other comments included “Without Virat Kohli in this reel is like food without spice,” “Where is our king Kohli,” and “King missing.”

It was reported that Kohli had to fly back to Mumbai from Guwahati due to a personal emergency, while the rest of the Indian squad arrived in Trivandrum for their second warm-up game against the Netherlands. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not confirmed whether Kohli will miss the warm-up game, but there are claims that he will return in time for the match on October 3 and join his teammates.

Kohli is an integral part of the Indian team, and although the warm-up game against the Netherlands may not be of utmost importance, he would want to get some runs under his belt, especially considering the last match against England was abandoned due to rain.
