Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt is in the spotlight following allegations that former President Donald Trump divulged US nuclear submarine secrets to him. According to ABC News, Trump shared this information with Pratt, a member of his Mar-a-Lago Club, after leaving office. It is then claimed that Pratt disseminated these secrets to several others at Trump’s private club.
Pratt is the chairman of Visy and Pratt Industries, which are major paper and packaging companies. Visy, founded by his father, is Australia’s second-largest private company, while Pratt Industries is the group’s US-based corrugated packaging company, holding assets of approximately $12 billion.
His companies are heavily involved in recycling paper, glass, and other products in Australia, while in the US, they specialize in manufacturing cardboard boxes. Trump even visited one of Pratt’s paper-recycling mills in Ohio in 2020 and praised it as “amazing.”
With a net worth of $9.2 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Pratt ranks as the 213th wealthiest individual globally.
Politically, Pratt has supported both sides in Australia and the US.
Pratt joined Mar-a-Lago as a member in 2017 and divides his time between Melbourne and New York City, where he has resided for many years.
