Actor Gayatri Joshi’s husband Vikas Oberoi is being investigated for a high-speed crash involving two supercars – a Laborghini and a Ferrari – in Italy’s Sardinia. The crash resulted in the deaths of a couple from Switzerland – Markus Krautli and Melissa Krautli.
According to Italian news agency L’Unione Sarda, Mr Oberoi was driving the blue Lamborghini Huracan at the time of the incident. He is now a suspect in the case, with authorities considering the possibility of a double road homicide. The crash also caused a camper to flip over, resulting in significant damage to the Lamborghini.
Fortunately, both Mr Oberoi and his wife escaped unharmed from the accident.
Investigators are examining several videos from the crash site, including footage captured by a car following Mr Oberoi’s vehicle. The video shows a line of sports cars trailing behind a camper van on a narrow two-lane highway. The Lamborghini attempts to overtake the van, but at that moment, the Ferrari behind both vehicles swerves violently and collides with Mr Oberoi’s car.
A witness to the incident, Lorenzo Mascarin, expressed his fear and shock, stating that he and his wife “looked death in the face” during the ordeal.
