Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma, known for his witty responses, had a hilarious comeback during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 Captains’ Day. When asked about the controversial ending of the 2019 World Cup, where England and New Zealand were tied and the winner was decided by boundaries scored, Rohit jokingly stated that it was not his job to declare the winners. His response left everyone in splits.

In an interview with Indian Express, Rohit also discussed his journey to becoming the captain of the Indian team. He admitted that the ideal time to take on the captaincy would have been around the age of 26-27, but sometimes one doesn’t get what they want. He acknowledged the presence of stalwarts like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni who came before him and deserved the captaincy as well.

Rohit highlighted the names of other Indian cricket legends who never got the opportunity to captain the national team, such as Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag, and Yuvraj Singh. He expressed gratitude for finally getting the chance to lead the team and mentioned that it was better to have the captaincy when he had the experience and knowledge required for the role.

With his humorous response and insights into his captaincy journey, Rohit Sharma continues to charm both on and off the field.
