Bali authorities are searching for a foreign tourist who has sparked outrage among locals by meditating naked at a Hindu shrine. The incident came to light when a video of the man surfaced on social media. In the video, he was seen sitting in front of a shrine without any clothes on, appearing to meditate.

Ni Luh Djelantik, a Balinese influencer, shared the video on Instagram, expressing her disbelief and anger. She called his actions disrespectful and humiliating to the Balinese people. The tourist has been identified by authorities, but his name and nationality have not been disclosed publicly.

Local residents expressed their outrage on social media, denouncing the tourist’s behavior and calling for his removal from the island. “We don’t need this kind of tourist on our island,” one local wrote on Instagram.

Tedy Riyandi, the director of the Immigration Office, stated that investigations are ongoing regarding the incident. The office has been trying to contact the foreigner through his social media account but has received no response so far.

This is not the first time such incidents have occurred in Bali. In the past, many foreign tourists have been deported and banned from returning to Indonesia due to their indecent behavior. In April 2023, an Instagram influencer from Russia was deported for posting a nude photo of herself in front of a sacred tree. Similarly, in June, a Danish woman was deported after being filmed flashing the public while riding a motorbike.

In response to these incidents, the local government published a guide for tourists who wish to visit Bali, highlighting the importance of respecting the culture and traditions of the island. Bali, known for its beautiful scenery and popular among travelers, attracts tourists from all over the world. However, such disrespectful acts are not tolerated by the locals and are met with strong backlash.
