Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jawan is closing in on the ₹ 600-crore mark in box office collections. According to Sacnilk, the film has currently made ₹ 581.43 crore in India, and is expected to surpass the lifetime collections of Gadar 2 and Pathaan. On its 22nd day, Jawan collected ₹ 5.50 crore. To celebrate this achievement, Red Chillies Entertainment has introduced a “buy-1-get-1-ticket-free” offer from Thursday to Saturday (September 28-September 30). Jawan, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, was released on September 7. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has called it an “unstoppable force” and believes that the ticket offer will further boost its business over the extended weekend.
Taran Adarsh also provided a breakdown of Jawan’s box office collections in week 3: Friday ₹7.10 crore, Saturday ₹ 11.50 crore, Sunday ₹ 13.90 crore, Monday ₹ 4.90 crore, Tuesday ₹ 4.40 crore, Wednesday ₹ 4.45 crore. The total collections so far stand at ₹ 519.69 crore.
Jawan features special appearances by Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt. The film also includes Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Ayesha Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, and Lehar Khan in the cast.
The film has received positive responses from both fans and critics. NDTV film critic Saibal Chatterjee praised Shah Rukh Khan’s performance, stating that he carries out his role with “phenomenal panache.” Chatterjee also described Jawan as a fan service masala film that also delivers a political statement.
After Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for the release of Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and co-starring Taapsee Pannu. The film, co-produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, Jio Cinemas, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, is set to release during Christmas. According to Taran Adarsh, Dunki will clash with Prabhas’ Salaar at the box office.
