Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has vowed to ensure that the accused responsible for the rape of a minor girl in Ujjain receives severe punishment. Speaking to reporters, Chouhan expressed his disdain for such individuals, stating that they have no place in society. He emphasized that the accused had inflicted significant harm on the conscience of Madhya Pradesh and that his government would take every measure to support and protect the victim.

The incident occurred in Ujjain city, where an autorickshaw driver was apprehended by the police for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl who was found injured on the streets. The victim, who is currently receiving treatment at an Indore hospital, is gradually recovering. During the investigation, the accused attempted to escape but was swiftly captured by the police. Medical examinations confirmed that the girl had indeed been subjected to rape.

Chouhan’s statement comes after he participated in the Ganesh festival and immersed the Lord Ganesh idol at his official residence. He stressed that the victim is not just the daughter of Madhya Pradesh but also his own, and he is committed to ensuring justice for her through stringent punishment for the accused.
