Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has already admitted defeat in the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan. Modi claimed that Gehlot’s request to not scrap the welfare schemes initiated by the Congress shows that he knows the countdown for the Congress government has begun. Modi gave a guarantee that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not discontinue these schemes if they come to power but will instead improve them.
During a public rally in Chittorgarh, Modi also made it clear that no leader will be projected as the chief ministerial candidate. The lotus symbol of the BJP will be the candidate instead. Prior to the rally, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 7,200 crore in Rajasthan. He also visited the Sanwaliya temple to offer prayers.
Modi criticized the Gehlot government for corruption and women’s safety issues. He claimed that the Congress has made it a tradition to mistreat women in Rajasthan. He also promised to hold the paper leak mafia accountable and give them the harshest punishment. Modi mentioned the brutal murder of tailor Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur, asking if the people of the state voted for the Congress for such incidents.
The Prime Minister alleged that the anti-development environment created by the Congress does not allow peaceful celebrations of festivals in Rajasthan. He assured that the BJP will bring prosperity, employment, and development to the state, as well as ensure the safety of women.
Modi further accused the Congress of lying to the people to come to power in Rajasthan. He claimed that Chief Minister Gehlot was more concerned with saving his chair than running the government. Modi also criticized the conflicts within the Congress and accused them of indulging in loot. He stated that such a dispensation should not last even a day.
Regarding the youth of Rajasthan, Modi promised to investigate the betrayal done to them and hold the paper leak mafia accountable. He assured strict action against corruption and accused the Congress of making false announcements whenever they feel they are going to lose an election.
Modi claimed that Rajasthan tops the list when it comes to crime and cases of atrocities against women, Dalits, and backward people. He accused the Congress government of ruining the credibility of Rajasthan in the last five years. Modi also criticized the opposition INDIA alliance, led by the Congress, for their insulting remarks about women.
The Prime Minister reiterated that there are no factions within the BJP’s state leadership in Rajasthan and that they will contest the election under the party’s lotus symbol. He promised to provide every poor person in the country with a permanent roof to live in. Modi also mentioned the direct benefit transfer (DBT) to farmers’ accounts, highlighting the BJP’s efforts to directly transfer funds to the beneficiaries.
