Three people, including a railway employee, have been arrested in Karimganj district, Assam, for the alleged murder of a teenage girl and engaging in sexual acts with her body. On September 9, the minor’s body was found near Karimganj town bypass, the same day she was killed. A post-mortem examination confirmed necrophilia, and a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered.

Karimganj Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das informed reporters that during the investigation, a phone number was discovered in the girl’s personal diary. This led to the identification and arrest of the three accused, who were apprehended at their homes in Karimganj town. The SP revealed that a newly recruited railway employee was involved in a relationship with the girl and had been pressuring her for a physical relationship. Despite the girl repeatedly rejecting his advances, the employee and two of his friends attempted to rape her on September 9. When she resisted, they strangled her to death and engaged in sexual acts with her body.

The accused disposed of the body near the bypass, where it was later discovered and identified by the victim’s parents. It is important to note that the story has not been edited by NDTV staff and is published from a syndicated feed.
