Biden also emphasized the importance of addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and expressed his commitment to returning missing Americans to their families. The US government is working tirelessly, in cooperation with Israel and other partners in the region, to secure the release of Americans held by Hamas. The United States is actively engaged in providing support to Israel and is working with Egypt and Israel to establish safe passages for civilians and humanitarian assistance to Gaza. Hamas’s tactics, including using tunnels under residential areas and occupying hospitals and schools, were also condemned as barbaric and brutal. The recent attack by Hamas has led to a significant number of casualties on both sides, with Israel reporting the deaths of approximately 1,500 Hamas militants.
