Union Minister Kailash Choudhary stated that individuals who wish to live in India must say “Bharat Mata ki Jai” (Hail Mother India). Speaking at a farmers’ convention organized by the BJP in Hyderabad, Mr Choudhary expressed concern over the language used by public representatives in Hyderabad and stressed the need to teach them a lesson. He called for the formation of a government in the state with a nationalistic mindset. He firmly declared that those who refuse to chant “Bharat Mata ki Jai” are not welcome in India. He questioned whether someone living in India would say “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long live Pakistan) and emphasized that only those who say “Vande Mataram” (Salutations to the Motherland) and “Bharat Mata ki Jai” have a place in the country. Mr Choudhary suggested that anyone who does not believe in India, Hindustan, and instead supports “Pakistan Zindabad” should go to Pakistan. He emphasized the importance of a nationalist ideology in the country and the need to strengthen it collectively. The farmers’ convention was organized by the BJP to celebrate the Union Cabinet’s recent approval of the terms of reference of the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal, which governs the division of river water between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Mr Choudhary criticized the opposition alliance for naming itself INDIA, accusing the Congress party of stealing the names of Mahatma Gandhi and Congress. He claimed that the name INDIA was chosen to hide the corrupt practices of the previous UPA government. He praised the approval of the Krishna tribunal’s terms of reference, highlighting the significance of water for farmers. Mr Choudhary lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for farmers, such as the increase in the agriculture budget, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, nano urea fertilizer provision, and the agricultural infrastructure fund. He emphasized the need for a nationalistic government to be formed in Telangana.
